Model Train Layout Scenery Photos From A Beginner

A few months ago we covered Matt’s story after he had started creating some amazingly good scenery as a beginner.

Well, Matt has progressed even further and has sent in some updated photographs.

Matt’s model train layout is ho-scale and he is modeling a Canadian west coast scene.

Great job Matt, it looks fantastic…

Enjoy the photos and please leave your comments at the bottom of this page… Matt would appreciate the feedback!

I don’t really like bring to much of a critic of my fellow modellers hard work, but at the same time I believe that honesty in a critique will make a modeller work harder on his next project. The first obvious problem is the mountains in that they seem to be reaching for the stars, not the moon, as well as that he does not have enough covering of trees, etc on the mountains. Next comes the sad attempt at the river under the bridge, it all just seems so plastic looking and totally out of scale. As I said, I don’t mean to be harsh , but sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind.

#1. Jealous, he is doing something that I had wanted to do years BTD, but all was lost.
One comment though, I do believe that he did go a ‘wee tad bit overboard’ on the mountain side. I would suggest that he takes a further look at mountain scenery along the cuts.
